Meteor Astronaut game guide

Goal of the game

In Meteor Astronaut you play with your face and head movements. Your astronaut follows your NOSE. Meteors rush at you out of deep space: dodge them, or BLINK to fire a laser that smashes the one in front of you. Grab glowing crystals and power-ups!

Each run in Meteor Astronaut lasts until you lose your 3 lives, so the real goal is to survive longer and beat your own best score.

Quick start

Meteor Astronaut in one line: Float through a meteor storm — blink to fire your blaster!

  • Press Play on this page — Meteor Astronaut loads in a few seconds right in the browser.
  • Tap Allow when the browser asks for the camera, then read the short tutorial card.
  • Play your first run of Meteor Astronaut slowly to learn how it reacts to your face and head movements.
  • After a game over, press Play again to try to beat your best.

Controls explained

  • Quick reminder shown in Meteor Astronaut: Nose = fly · blink = laser.
  • Sit facing the camera with your whole face in view; Meteor Astronaut reads your nose position, blinks and mouth on your own device.
  • Exaggerate actions a little — a clear blink or wide-open mouth registers more reliably in Meteor Astronaut than a tiny one.
  • If Meteor Astronaut feels too hard at first, play a practice round to learn the timing before chasing a high score.

Scoring and levels

Points in Meteor Astronaut come from the code-defined rewards of 15 points for different actions, so the bigger moves are worth chasing. Every 300 points you reach a new level, and Meteor Astronaut speeds up and sends more at you each time. You start with 3 lives. Your best score is saved in your browser, and signed-in players also appear on the Meteor Astronaut leaderboard.

Power-ups

Power-up orbs appear every few seconds in Meteor Astronaut. Touch or collect them to activate:

  • 🛡️ Shield (10 s): blocks the next hit so a mistake does not cost a life.
  • ⏳ Slow-Mo (6 s): slows the whole game down so you can line up precise moves.
  • ❄️ Freeze (5 s): freezes every moving threat in place.
  • 2️⃣ Double Points (10 s): doubles every point you earn while it lasts.
  • ❤️ Extra Life: adds one life (up to six).
  • 🧲 Magnet (9 s): pulls nearby coins and pickups toward you.
  • ✨ Triple (8 s): multiplies your attack or catch three ways.

Characters and world

The 3D world of Meteor Astronaut features astronautAs, meteor detaileds, meteors, rock crystals and craft speederAs. Learning how each one moves is the key to reading the screen quickly.

Tips and strategy

  • Stay near the centre in Meteor Astronaut; it gives you the most room to dodge in either direction.
  • Don't chase every pickup in Meteor Astronaut — grab only the ones on your safe path.
  • Aim at the nearest threat first in Meteor Astronaut; letting one slip through costs more than a missed shot.
  • Save your focus for the moment a Freeze or Slow-Mo starts — that is when Meteor Astronaut gives you free points.
  • With a Shield active, play aggressively in Meteor Astronaut; the next mistake is free.
  • Good, even lighting from the front makes tracking in Meteor Astronaut far more reliable than a bright window behind you.
  • Replay Meteor Astronaut a few times: each run teaches you the patterns, and scores usually double after the first five games.

Device requirements and privacy

Meteor Astronaut needs a front-facing or web camera and works in Chrome, Edge and Safari on phones, tablets and computers. Allow camera access when asked; face tracking runs on your device and nothing is recorded or uploaded unless you choose to record a clip yourself. It is free to play; free players may see a short ad between rounds (never during play), and Premium removes all ads.
